Tilcon Employees acknowledged by the State for Excellence in the Route 8, Waterbury/Thomaston paving project

Tilcon was awarded with the State of Connecticut’s 2005 Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Paving Award at the 48th Annual Paving Conference held on April 13th at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.

The State recognized Tilcon’s Route 8, Waterbury/Thomaston paving project as a “quality HMA pavement placed on a limited-access roadway.”

The State also recognized Tilcon’s Paving Superintendent Chris August, Paving Foreman Jackie Oliveira, HMA Plant Foreman Christopher Spinella and Assistant Superintendent of Quality Control Eric Dickson as part of the project team who exemplified the highest standards of HMA production and paving excellence.

Traffic control and signing patterns were established and maintained by Marcus Stevenson from our Heavy & Highway division. The roadway was constructed during nighttime hours making all of these efforts even more challenging.
