Tilcon's North Branford Plant Achieves NAPA's 2005 Diamond Achievement Commendation
|
The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced that Tilcon Connecticut’s Manchester, New Britain, North Branford, Newington, and Waterbury plants have earned NAPA’s 2005 Diamond Achievement Commendation for Excellence in hot-mix asphalt plant/site operations. The Commendation recognizes hot-mix asphalt (HMA) production facilities that best demonstrate exemplary practices while fostering good community-relations.
“Earning the Diamond Achievement Commendation serves as a signal to neighbors that an HMA facility is a good neighbor,” commented NAPA Chairman Richard Moore. “The self-assessment process addresses six aspects of the plant/site: appearance, operations, environmental practices, safety, permitting and compliance, and community relations. By earning the Diamond Achievement, Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. has shown the community that it will go the extra mile for excellence.”
According to NAPA, the Diamond Achievement Commendation is earned through a self-assessment process. Participation is voluntary and is on a plant/site by plant/site basis. Nominations are verified by members of the local community and are evaluated by a nationally known independent assessment firm.
The National Asphalt Pavement Association, founded in 1955, has more than 1,100 member companies. It is the only trade association that exclusively represents the interests of the Hot Mix Asphalt producer and paving contractor on the national level with Congress, government agencies, and other national trade and business organizations.
Tilcon Connecticut Inc., for over 80 years, has been the industry leader in providing quality crushed stone, asphalt, ready mix concrete and construction and paving services. Tilcon serves the market from 25 locations throughout Connecticut.
