July/August 2005 NAWIC IMAGE cover with Tilcon Connecticut's winning photo

Susan White, Tilcon's dump truck driver, talks to children about the safety functions of a construction truck

Tilcon placed first in the National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) photo contest and, consequently, the winning photo appeared on the cover of the July/August 2005 issue of The NAWIC IMAGE magazine.

The photo contest’s goal, according to NAWIC, is to “celebrate women who have found success in the industry, promoted NAWIC in their communities and introduced the world of construction to America’s youth.”

Tilcon’s winning photo entitled, “Tilcon Connecticut donates sand for summer camp and educates children along the way,” includes Susan White, dump truck driver for Tilcon and children from The School for Young Children at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT. The photo shows Susan talking to the children about the safety functions and operations of a construction truck.
